What is coaching
Coaching is a powerful partnership that can support you to step into your life more fully. It provides structure, accountability and support to focus on the goals that are most important to you. These may change over time through the coaching process, but they are always goals that you deem most important to living a happy and fulfilling life. Through a process of inquiry and discovery, coaching allows you to start where you are, get out of your own way, and move powerfully forward towards designing and living your life authentically according to your core values and commitments. Coaching is based on honesty and trust, and includes discussions of real and perceived goals, disappointments, self-doubt, over challenging situations, frustrations, worries, loneliness, anxiety, blocks, fears and anything else that is drawing energy away from progress. One of the goals is to have you see how you might be getting in your own way, so that you can let go of ineffective, past-based strategies, bring your best self forward, and access more joy, clarity, satisfaction and ease! How does coaching work? Because coaching is based on relationship, commitment, and your innermost desires, every session is tailored specifically to meet your needs. Coaching is not a one size fits all plan. The focus is on discovering what works and what doesnt work for you. I meet with clients once a week, either in person or by phone, for sessions of 60 to 90 minutes. In our sessions we concentrate on removing the obstacles and resistance that is leaking away at your power, and design strategies, actions, and ways of being that free you up to move toward whatever it is that youre wanting. Part of the struggle of being human is that we often live much of our lives in reaction to circumstances. There can be a feeling of protection, isolation, and limited options. Its perfectly human to avoid danger and to try to control life by staying within our comfort zone. It just doesnt turn out to be satisfying or fun. Its familiar, predictable, and safe. One of the goals of coaching is to allow you to gain a new perspective, other that the one you might be stuck in. If you can see yourself, others, or your circumstances differently, then you are free to take a different action, and thereby get a different result. I believe that one of the key elements to living a fulfilling and joyful life is to live a life that is in alignment with our core commitments and values, where we are truly able to bring our gifts to the table and have deep, meaninful connections with others. Any misalignment between our essence and our current choices creates resistance, which manifests in bodily, mental, emotional and spiritual angst. The trick is to distinguish which inner voices are based on our essence, and which are more conditioned, protective, ego based wants, complaints, and needs that might lead to habits of self sabotage. The more proactive and responsible you are for your life, the more you can empower yourself to have your life be a reflection of the magnificence that you already are! As a coach I support clients to build the skills that allow them to better distinguish and come from their most resilient and powerful selves. I believe in effortlessness, abundance and momentum. When you are connected and committed, the entire force of the universe will come to your aid. What most people do is confuse effortless with comfortable. They go right for effortless without being committed. They avoid action because it seems to take such effort. By avoiding action, they end up being in reaction to life, moving away from action, and actually manifesting resistance. The key to achieving flow and effortlessness is to get more powerful at moving through resistance. With this skill, you are free to move towards your visions, goals, and desires with less effort. The result of this work is an authentic and meaningful life lived on purpose, with access to more joy, clarity, focus, power, prosperity, and being.
